Decisions:

The chair welcomed all present to the meeting which had been called to seek a recommendation to the Executive in respect of whether the current four hackney carriage zones should be replaced with one North Northamptonshire zone following a consultation process.

The chair informed those present that it had been brought to his attention late this afternoon that several consultation responses filed by members of the public and the hackney carriage trade had not been included in the report that had been published for this meeting.

To ensure that proper consideration was given to all responses to the consultation, this meeting would not continue as planned.

He asked the council’s legal representative to explain the reasons for this decision.

The chair therefore proposed that the meeting be cancelled, and a new meeting convened, with a new report to be published on 13 March 2024, prior to the committee convening on Thursday 21 March 2024.  This was seconded by Councillor Bone and on being put to the vote declared carried with five votes in favour and three abstentions.

The chair clarified that all those members of the public who had registered to speak would still be permitted to do so at the meeting set for 21 March 2024.

He thanked all those councillors, officers and members of the public who had taken the time to attend and closed the meeting at 7.08pm.
