Cllr Lora Lawman was elected as chair of the Employment Subcommittee.

There were no apologies for absence.

The Chair invited those who wished to do so to declare any interests in respect of items on the agenda.

No declarations were made.

It was resolved that:

Under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded for the remaining item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information, in respect of the following:-

              i.Appointment of Executive Director for Children's Services (as defined by paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12 A of the Act)

and that, in all circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

The Subcommittee will conduct interviews for the role of Executive Director of Children’s Services for North Northamptonshire Council, in accordance with the procedure established by the Employment Committee on 20^th February 2024.

It will be responsible for selecting and recommending a successful candidate for approval to be sought by full Council.

The Employment Subcommittee conducted interviews for the role of Executive Director for Children’s Services.

Following the conclusion of the interviews, the Subcommittee considered which of the candidates should be its preferred choice, with the support of the Assistant Director for Human Resources.

Resolved:-

That it be agreed that the Assistant Director for Human Resources should be informed of:-

a)    The name of the most suitable person for the position  for the role of Executive Director for Children’s Services;

b)    the relevant particulars which the Subcommittee considers are relevant to the appointment in accordance with the requirements set out in the Constitution.

[Charisse Monero was subsequently formally appointed to the role of Executive Director of Children’s Services for North Northamptonshire Council.]
